I upgraded to Vivid and vlc video output stopped working, mplayer works
fine though. First I got this error :
% vlc test.mp4

Permissions on /dev/tty0 at the time were :
% ls -l /dev/tty0
crw--w---- 1 root tty 4, 0 Dec 12 11:01 /dev/tty0
I put myself in the tty group, verified using id/groups that I was in
the tty group, re-launched still same error. Then I sudo chmod 660
/dev/tty0 and I got this error :
