/dev/sda1 236M 167M 57M 75% /boot
currently there are several images installed:
dpkg -l | grep '^ii' | grep ux-image| wc
11 163 1980
The number of kernels is likely to be larger.
In newer packages of bikeshed (not in 12.04) there is a script for removing old
kernels:
purge-old-kernels
It has a number of dependencies, so maybe only an option for desktop.
at least it freed space for one kernel here:
dpkg -l | grep '^ii' | grep ux-image| wc
9 132 1614
/dev/sda1 236M 128M 96M 58% /boot
