Glancing at DpkgTerminalLog.txt, you are doing weird things that will
kill your installation. Glad enough it does not let you do so, and push
that 'false' error to alert you.

Take time to learn how to update/upgrade by reading the howto/kiwi from the 
community.

There is some graphical tool to do the stuff smoothly, like 'synaptic'

sudo apt-get install synaptic
sudo synaptic
