I'm using my patched packages the hole time on the university network, without problems. The DNS still exists and the routs are configured.
@Philipp Kern: Sorry your workaround isn't working for me and many others. Because I can't go to the administrator of the university network and say: "Please change your configuration ...". The answer is a big "NO". I think when an vpn connection is established and a dns server is pushed, then the the new dns should be used. And if no dns server is pushed, there should be nothing changed in the resolve.conf.
