OK moving back to confirmed Have had the new BIOS running for a week and have seen the issue recur several times.
Current workaround is to boot up, and then open [ System Properties --> Mouse and Touchpad ] mouse properties, where i will only see General (and not Touchpad). I then close the lid and walk away for several minutes. It seems that lately this works after 1-5 tries, but I suspect its really luck of the draw. In every case, after one suspend or laptop-lid-close, the Touchpad category will show up, but will not necessarily mean that the touchpad works. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1527740 Title: Touchpad intermittently stops working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1527740/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
