Public bug reported:

I like to keep my machine updated. I manually started Software Updater
rather than waiting for it to appear on its own. Software Updater tells
me that not all updates can be installed. It offers to perform a partial
upgrade, but cannot perform said upgrade. An error dialogue appears
informing me that ubuntu-desktop cannot be installed, for reasons that I
do not know.

It is interesting to see this on a fresh installation of 15.10 Wily.
