The logs attached to this bug report don't look correct. The described
issue is a grub configuration error; the log/installer/syslog included
shows no output from grub-installer, it only shows the download of the
grub-installer component. At minimum, I would expect to see output such
as:
Sep 24 05:10:21 ubuntu grub-installer: info: architecture: amd64/generic
Sep 24 05:10:21 ubuntu grub-installer: info: Identified partition label for
/dev/sda1: msdos
Is this problem reproducible, and are you able to provide a complete
installer log?
I've not heard of RDX, but according to the kernel log it appears to be
a type of USB-attached storage. Is there a reason to expect this
failure to be specific to RDX, as opposed to being reproducible with any
disk on the Linux scsi system? There are no kernel errors in the log
about sda. If this isn't RDX-specific, we could try to reproduce it
against other disk targets. I don't believe we have access to RDX
disks.
