Using the latest 4.4.0 kernel, I can now boot. But only with nvidia
graphics card enabled. Intel graphics is still broken.

Backlight function keys are still not working. I have tried various 
combinations of:
acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=native
acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor
etc

with no luck.
