Today I tried the daily build of Ubuntu 16.04, from a live cd usb. Nouveau worked fine, but I can't seem to run Android Studio on a live cd, so I couldn't test the freeze issue. There was a problem with java. Maybe I should create a live cd usb with a large disk space, so I can install java and as on that. I tried to run android studio from the harddisk, that I had mounted.
