I started getting the error today with the latest patch. I've sent in a bug (via "ubuntu-bug linux") but wanted to add that I was able to get rid of it* by running "sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm" in recovery mode. I was already using lightdm so I don't know why that fixed the problem.
(* - It's possible it was just a coincidence but I tried multiple times to reboot and failed every time with the drm error until I reconfigured lightdm and it started the first time.
