same here Ubuntu 14.0.4.3 kernel 3.19.0-47-generic with HTC M8 MTP enabled first i installed mtpfs package as advised on Ubuntu forms and worked fin with banshee but the kernel update was installed and after restart same problem again i used apt-get purge mtpfs and same problem
