I had a similar problem, but it didn't happen from a dist-upgrade, but
rather a regular upgrade.

The following are my notes on the topic:

...............................
Weird error from apparmor, only on this skylake system, on update of
isc-dhcp-client isc-dhcp-common

(07:33:07 AM) npm: SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?? -> isc-dhcp-client isc-dhcp-common
just updated, on install and again for dpkg-reconfigure, I got warning:
"Warning from /etc/apparmor.d/sbin.dhclient (/etc/apparmor.d/sbin.dhclient line
85): profile /sbin/dhclient network rules not enforced" (also same warning for
"/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action" and
"/usr/lib/connman/scripts/dhclient-script" )
(07:34:25 AM) npm: my laptop, which is a clone of this system but running stock
kernel (above error from skylake 14.04LTS system running 4.3.0-040300-generic)
(07:34:34 AM) npm: didn't get any error.
(07:38:26 AM) _arktos_: npm the error is from the skylake machine ?
(07:39:06 AM) npm: _arktos_: yes
(07:41:11 AM) npm: _arktos_: the desktop is a recent disk-clone of my 14.04LTS
laptop. desktop is skylake running 4.3.0-040300-generic #201511020949 . laptop
running 3.13.0-74-generic #118-Ubuntu .
(07:43:54 AM) _arktos_: npm laptop is what chip ? Haswell !?
(07:44:13 AM) npm: _arktos_: i do not recall messing with any of the apparmor
settings, or much else on the desktop system. nonetheless got a long list of
warnings from that dhcp update: "Warning from profile
/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action (/etc/apparmor.d/sbin.dhclient)
dbus rules not enforced" "Warning from profile
/usr/lib/connman/scripts/dhclient-script (/etc/apparmor.d/sbin.dhclient) dbus
rules not enforced" etc
(07:44:48 AM) npm: _arktos_: might be older i7 mobile than haswell.
(07:46:26 AM) npm: _arktos_: "Intel Core i7 4700HQ"
(07:48:16 AM) _arktos_: npm i think ur problem is simple : i think u can not
clone an install , put it on another Machine/chipset , do an kernel update and
expect it to work..... since skylake is not supported in any ubuntu distro yet
..... 16.04 maybe .... try a clean 15.10 install on skylake and update to
latest kernel!
(07:50:39 AM) npm: _arktos_: it's been working beautifully for me. i'm not a
noob. but that update warning was weird. looks like a bug to me.

..................

Corollary question is whether this has to do with running an unsupported
kernel, as the system I see this problem on is a Skylake CPU running
4.3.0-040300-generic vs stock 14.04.3 LTS on a supported CPU.

Also the system on which the update gives warnings shows no profile entry
> dmesg:921:[ 3.281524] audit: type=1400 audit(1452698622.948:2):
> apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" name="/sbin/dhclient" pid=694
> comm="apparmor_parser"
Whereas the system that updates without warnings has profile="unconfined"
> /var/log/dmesg:[ 5.252463] type=1400 audit(1452010347.556:2):
> apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined"
> name="/sbin/dhclient" pid=559 comm="apparmor_parser"
