Public bug reported:

Unlike vidalia, which was capable of starting tor all on its own, arm
complains that it can't start tor on its own, and that you have to open
a new terminal, and start it outside of arm. Bad enough tor-arm is
curses based - but getting people to go run commands in a terminal is
way over the head of most users.

quote:

12:26:12 [ARM_NOTICE] Tor needs root permissions to start with this configu-
│ ration (it will drop itself to the current user afterward). To continue...
 │ - open another terminal
 │ - run "sudo /home/themusicgod1/.arm/startTor"
│ - press 'r' here to tell arm to reconnect [1 duplicate hidden]

and yet if you run with sudo -u arm or sudo arm arm complains that
you're using it as root.

at the very least prompt the user for administrator password / password
for sudo

Ubuntu: 15.10

tor-arm:
  Installed: 1.4.5.0-1.1
  Candidate: 1.4.5.0-1.1

** Affects: tor-arm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
