Public bug reported:

If you install ubuntu-snappy onto a desktop system kernel packages fail
to upgrade:

Generating grub configuration file ...
Warning: Setting GRUB_TIMEOUT to a non-zero value when GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT is
set is no longer supported.
ERROR: cannot determine partition label for rootfs /dev/sda1
run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-grub exited with return code 1
dpkg: error processing package linux-image-extra-4.4.0-1-generic (--remove):
subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 1

This appears to be due to the file /etc/grub.d/09_snappy

** Affects: ubuntu-snappy (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
