Interestingly enough, after reconfiguring using dpkg, it uses and
displays the correct native screen resolution for this laptop.  I have
also been updating packages and have noticed updates for displayconfig-
gtk

However, trying to change the resolution to a lower one doesn't work.
The dialog box allows you to do it, but it doesn't actually do it and
just reverts back to 1024x768.

I am reattaching the xorg.conf file that I am using, which is what I got
after reconfiguring the xserver through dpkg. The only change I made was
to the name of the monitor under identifier.
