Public bug reported:
xserver-xorg-video-nouveau used to work perfectly. Then I attached a 2nd
monitor and adjusted the settings (successfully, as I thought), but the
next boot was to a black screen. I can only boot in recovery mode, and
cannot access high resolution (1600 x 900).
I gave up on the 2nd monitor, uninstalled and re-installed xserver-xorg-
video-nouveau, then installed (and removed) in turn the three
proprietary nvidia drivers, none of which worked. They are now purged,
and xserver-xorg-video-nouveau reinstalled. I've looked for solutions on
the web, but I'm at a complete loss. Thanks for any help you can give.
