According to http://bashdb.sourceforge.net/pydb/pydb/lib/module-
pydb.html one of the goals of the project is to have an interface that
is "like" gdb's.  One thing that is missing is the 'path' functionality,
something that useful when, for example, your imports aren't working.

'path' will ideally do two things.  1) display the current path (no
arguments) 2) add to the current path (1 argument).  I haven't learned
enough python to do the latter, yet, but the former appears to be
working in this patch.
