I would be uncomfortable with uploading the (complete) file here. Is there a possibility out there to cut the mp3 leaving it's original format untouched? I could upload this snippet then. Unfortunately I don't have a Ubuntu Desktop (yet). Anyhow, I can tell you that the file works fine with iTunes and Quicktime, but Audacity and VLC also struggle sometimes and make the same "crackling sounds" although not that often as my Ubuntu phone.
