Public bug reported:
Booted from Ubuntu MATE daily ISO as live CD ("Try Ubuntu MATE")
Selected "Install Ubuntu MATE 16.04" from the Desktop
Selected language (English, though I tried a few other languages and it occurs
in all of them)
Installer window disappears suddenly, no error message
Tried running this from the command line with:
ubiquity gtk_ui
with the same result, and no output.
In /var/log/syslog I noted a Python traceback relating to ubiquity and
secure boot; see attached file.
