Steps to reproduce: 1 Set up a new Windows 7 64bit VM and install Windows 7.
2. Reboot into Windows 7 safe mode and install Virtualbox guest additions with
DirectX support checked.
3. Open a JPG/PNG file in Windows 7. Windows photo viewer fails to launch with
COM surrogate has stopped working error.
I don't have this problem if I install guest additions without DirectX
support.
