I'm getting this error trying to install LM 17.3 Cinnamon x64 on my main box - I've just replaced the motherboard, cpu, ram (ASRock Z170 Extreme4, i7, 32Gb).
The error occurs sometimes during the partitioning, otherwise always immediately after Install pressed - sometimes locks up immediately, sometimes says the installer has crashed then locks up - either way I can get no logs. Tried compatibility mode as well as normal, that generally causes Cinnamon to crash then the installer to lock up. Tried Ubuntu 15.10 x64, same story so it appear to be common to the Ubuntu "family" rather than just LM. Tried different disks, cables, DVDs, checked the .iso md5 hashs, used both USB and DVD to install, with/without networking enabled (saw that somewhere). Going to try without ubiquity-slideshow but really running out of ideas here. If anyone can suggest how I can get some more info out of this to help solve this, please tell me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1485882 Title: Installation from LiveUSB.
