1) I actually wondered about it. It was a transitional package introduced in 4.0, but in fact lucid did have the old package. So there isn't an upgrade path issue from precise-1 to precise, but there is one from Lucid to Precise (LTS-LTS).
I restored it, even if Lucid is EOL, we should give users the new package upon upgrade, good catch! 2) I removed it, I don't care too much about the watch file, but since it is fixed in a later release, it would be nice to allow people apt-get source the guest-additions and use the uscan command.
