Public bug reported: An example, when this bug is a problem, is when /boot becomes full during kernel update. A meta kernel package such as linux-image-generic becomes broken, but the suggested command "sudo apt-get -f install" can not fix the problem. Freeing space by removing an older kernel packages by "apt-get purge" does not work either. A workaround is to use "dpkg --purge", but couldn't purging work by apt-get, too?
