Without the extra log file, I can't be sure; but the error code
indicates a segmentation fault, and, together with your other stability
problems, in the live CD installer these are characteristic of CD read
errors. I suggest burning the CD at a lower speed and cleaning the CD
drive lens with the sort of cleaning kits you can get in electronics
shops; then make sure to perform a CD integrity check from the boot menu
before starting the install again.
