Development of MComix has been rekindled. Version 1.2 was released at
the end of January, containing significant fixes and improvements.
Version 1.2.1 is a Windows-focused bugfix release.
I have tested MComix on Kubuntu 14.04.4, running it from its unpackaged
source code, as documented in its README: merely running
mcomixstarter.py is enough. Its dependencies (PyGTK and Pillow) were
already installed on my system (official Ubuntu packages), everything
worked fine out of the box.
I find this version solid, stable, and perfectly usable. I have not
tried all possible comics package formats though.
