Due to a previously reported bug

nv/+bug/29975) I am unable to use the nv video driver from the Ubuntu
Live CDs. Up until Edgy Knot 2 I've been able to get by just using the
Safe Graphics mode on the Live CDs. However Edgy Knot 2 & 3 using vesa
produce the same video distortions (green & yellow vertical lines) that
occurs using the nv driver.
I went back and checked the official Ship-It Dapper CD and the desktop
comes up fine using vesa. Using the binary nvidia driver works fine on
my actual Dapper install.
The card is an eVGA GeForce 6600 LS AGP (256mb I think).
