@btb-bitrate, I'm unable to reproduce the issue. Here, verbose output
works:
# /usr/sbin/update-ca-certificates --verbose
Updating certificates in /etc/ssl/certs...
0 added, 0 removed; done.
Running hooks in /etc/ca-certificates/update.d...
done.
And during a package upgrade, you also see the verbose output:
Unpacking ca-certificates (20160104ubuntu0.14.04.1) over
(20141019ubuntu0.14.04.1) ...
...
Setting up ca-certificates (20160104ubuntu0.14.04.1) ...
Processing triggers for ca-certificates (20160104ubuntu0.14.04.1) ...
Updating certificates in /etc/ssl/certs... 19 added, 19 removed; done.
Running hooks in /etc/ca-certificates/update.d....done.
# apt-cache policy ca-certificates
