Ctrl-H, or right-clicking "Show Hidden Files", works in all Nautilus
file selection dialog boxes, it's not something that's specific to Déjà
Dup.

I agree that I, too, discovered that feature per chance.

If you think it should be easier to show hidden files and directories in
file selection dialog boxes in general, you should report this against
Nautilus.

If you think it should be easier to show hidden files and directories in
Déjà Dup only, for exclusion purposes, you could perhaps mark your bug
as a duplicate of bug 1018154, which requests a way to exclude more
cache directories, or bug 458044, which requests a way to exclude all
hidden files and directories, cache or not.

** Summary changed:

- Folders starting with a dot cannot be added to exclude/include lists
+ Folders starting with a dot cannot be added to exclude/include lists without
first turning Show Hidden Files on

** Changed in: deja-dup (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Confirmed

** Package changed: deja-dup (Ubuntu) => deja-dup
