Bug was opened on 2007-09-29. I'm having the same or a similar problem:
recently I found out the internal microphone in my macBook was working
(yay!), but today or yesterday it stopped working correctly (yes, i
installed updates, that probably broke it). Now, whatever I record is
VERY noisy. Also, the master volume control doesn't seem to do anything.
My macBook (don't know what generation it is, but it is a white 2GHz 1024MB
macbook) versions:
Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B00
SMC Version: 1.13f3
