i am using xenial as a gateway, having problems maintaining an internet
connection without having to manuallly if down and up the internet
interface.

Title:
after my isp lease is due to be renewed isc-dhcp-client does not seem
to be renewing, have to take interface down on internet and up again
before a new external ip is assigned.
