Public bug reported: The recent frei0r-plugins package contains two Cairo-related transition effects: frei0r.cairoblend and frei0r.cairoaffineblend. Unfortunately, these both contain a bug concerning alpha transparency that shows up when rendering video, such as from video editors like Kdenlive, OpenShot, and more.
This bug has been fixed in mid-Nov 2015: https://github.com/ddennedy/frei0r/commit/63808414a36882b8bdd397aa24d5f61450151c4c Now this is a downstream repository maintained by Dan Dennedy who also develops and maintains the MLT media lovers toolkit that is used inside Kdenlive and other video editors. Unfortunately, it is unclear as to whether this fix has been already flown upstream to the frei0r code repository. At this time it is unclear when the next frei0r code release will be made. I would like to ask you to integrate this fix anyway downstream (at least for 15.10 and 15.04), if possible. This would help us as we see quite some forum questions around broken alpha compositing in Kdenlive. Getting this fix through the Ubuntu repository would help us as there are quite some users around that use Ubuntu/Kubuntu for video editing. Thank you very much! ** Affects: frei0r (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1550766 Title: frei0r.cairoblend and frei0r.cairoaffineblend alpha transparency bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/frei0r/+bug/1550766/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
