Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I'm running a Dell 1420n. It has a 965GM integrated GPU. After
upgrading to gutsy and rebooting, the graphics applet came up on a black
screen. Nothing I tried would make it work. I hit cancel and it
finally let go and brought me to the log on screen.

After that, compiz didn't work, though I realize xserver-org-video-intel
is blacklisted at the moment in compiz.

Turns out, Gutsy reverted to the vesa driver for some reason. Now
nothing I do makes the xserver-xorg-video-intel driver come back on and
I can't use any 3d effects for games or anything. I tried various
different xorg.conf configurations with no luck.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
