Public bug reported:
Trying Ubuntu 15.10 first without installing only brings me to desktop
background and mouse, then a crash reporter window pops up and seems to
say that Compiz has crashed (after wifi network notification flickers a
number of times).
Using the boot option to just install ubuntu brings more luck but when
actually trying to copy files etc after reformatting the drive, the
installer crashes with an IO error. Doing a disc check, showed 3 files
corrupt (it didn't mention which ones).
I'll try and use the disc image mounter/disk utility to extract and
"restore" the ubuntu image to my USB stick as I have had issues with
start up creator before.
