after upgrading kernel to 4.2
my xubuntu login screen will not appear.
I have to switch to tty1-6 then back to tty7
Is there a boot parameter missing (tty handoff ?)
I don't use splash or quiet
I've tried using a grub background image of differing sizes and none

using nvidia-304.131 tested
tried kernel parameter
vt.handoff=7
that did not unhide
