Public bug reported:

When I start up Netbeans using Ubuntu's openjdk 8, it will use 4 GB RAM
after startup has settled. Using Oracle's most recent jdk 8, it uses 900
MB.

I'm using -XX:GCTimeRatio=9 and -XX:+UseParallelGC command line options
for java 8 desktop apps to keep their memory consumption at a minimum.
