Public bug reported:
I have tested this now in two VM installations of Ubuntu GNOME 16.04
Beta 1 and I have got the same results both times. After using the
gnome3 and gnome3-staging PPAs to upgrade to GNOME 3.19, if I try to
open any applications from the Activities Overview they don't open,
instead, gnome-shell freezes and crashes so that I can't do anything, in
about 5 minutes or so the screen goes completely black, stays like that
for a few seconds and then gnome-shell restarts... If I try to launch
anything from the Activities Overview the story starts again...
Though I am able without any issue to launch applications from Docky,
Terminal, and I am able to launch Terminal just fine with CTRL + ALT +
T... So all is well unless I try to launch an application from the
Activities Overview...
