Thanks for the feedback, I think the culprit may have something to do
with (or perhaps be a reverse-depends of?) one of the
libgl*-mesa-*-lts-<release>:i386 libraries skype recurse-depends on,
then:
libgl1-mesa-dri-lts-<release>:i386
libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-<release>:i386
libglapi-mesa-lts-<release>:i386
where <release> is the release of the currently used X server, when
trying to upgrade to the X server of the next release
