This is working as it should work now. Is there any timeline on when it will be put out to the masses? I install a kernel and before rebooting I purge the 3rd kernel back like I've always done. If you autoremove the kernel it leaves the residual config files, which have to purged with a command like this dpkg -l | grep "^rc" | cut -d " " -f 3 | xargs sudo dpkg --purge
