Public bug reported: Given that there will be no fglrx driver in 16.04 (https://tjaalton.wordpress.com/2016/03/11/no-catalystfglrx-video- driver-in-ubuntu-16-04/) it would be good to let people upgrading to 16.04 know about this during the upgrade process rather than requiring them to read the release notes.
ubuntu-release-upgrader already has functionality for this with DistUpgradeQuirks and we can see one that was used before regarding unity 3d. https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu-release- upgrader/trunk/view/head:/DistUpgrade/DistUpgradeQuirks.py#L161 A similar notification should be added for fglrx. ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Tags: xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1556248 Title: dist upgrade quirk needed for fglrx and 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1556248/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
