Wine 1.8 has been out for a while now, and has many fixes and
improvements, e.g. the Lego Mindstorms EV3 Home Edition software does
not work on wine 1.6, but does on wine 1.8. I am running (X)ubuntu
16.04 and there is no wine1.8 package.
