Public bug reported: I'm surprising that the Hangout extension is installed in the Chromium release, even it does not appear in the plugin list or in the extension list.
This allow Hangout to enable features like entire screen sharing where others webapps cannot (without installing their own extension). For example, start a video call in Hangout (web) and click on the 3-dots menu, then share screen. It seems the activation started here : https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=416856 And there is actualy no-way to disable it (without re-compiling).
