Public bug reported: With update to 16.04, I've noticed how Python applications (eg. scripts based on launchpadlib) started asking for KWallet credentials.
The problem seems to be that KWallet has higher priority than "SecretService" backend. This is already fixed upstream and I can confirm that this fixes it for me: https://github.com/jaraco/keyring/commit/e49580f6a7ff7c8705297ada58fed970fa03759b ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: python-keyring 7.3-1 [modified: usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/keyring/backends/kwallet.py] ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-10.25-generic 4.4.3 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-10-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Tue Mar 15 13:06:56 2016 EcryptfsInUse: Yes PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: python-keyring UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to xenial on 2016-03-07 (8 days ago) ** Affects: python-keyring (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1557490 Title: Defaults to KWallet instead of gnome-keyring/secretstorage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-keyring/+bug/1557490/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
