I disagree on the status given. It is not an invalid issue for Ubuntu 14.04 which uses a kernel of version 3.16.0-x. The kernel delivered is erroneous and that is what is in the report.
There is also information that fix is available in newer kernels. Thus, there can be a backport. The reason for using the 14.04 is the letters: LTS which implies that "this is/are the most stabile version(s)". I amongst others (I suspect) would expect that backports amongst other fixes would be done. If you do not want to do this fix (by policy or whatever), it is rather a "Wont fix".
