Well, even as "non-coders" we can all help fix this bug by writing the most detailed accurate bug descriptions we can, providing hardware and package info on our systems to find commonalities and including appropriate logs / crash reports / and other output info.
For example, is this a Kubuntu only error, or does it also occur where people have installed Strigi on Gnome systems? It would be very hard to guess from the comments on this bug so far. If they all listed their System specs though... Anyway, just the fact that we've all added to this bug report is a step in the right direction.
