@francis-regan: I'm still getting issues with Chromium on 16.04, but I don't see the same (fifo_underrun) error. So it's likely that it was solved.
What I see now (only just checked the logs) are messages like: Mar 23 08:27:11 hpmor kernel: [20182.144009] [drm] stuck on render ring Mar 23 08:27:11 hpmor kernel: [20182.145137] [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 7:0:0x7ecffd67, in chromium-browse [2306], reason: Ring hung, action: reset Mar 23 08:27:11 hpmor kernel: [20182.147336] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang but that's likely a separate bug. Other similar messages mention that it could be a userspace issue too: Mar 23 10:11:18 hpmor kernel: [ 4448.875191] [drm] stuck on render ring Mar 23 10:11:18 hpmor kernel: [ 4448.876441] [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 7:0:0x85dfbff8, in chromium-browse [2320], reason: Ring hung, action : reset Mar 23 10:11:18 hpmor kernel: [ 4448.876444] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
