It sounds like this is a regression based on Comment 15 in the description:
- SUDIPTO GHOSH <[email protected]> - 2016-02-16 03:23:34 == Based on the last 2 comments, it seems that the issue exists with Ubuntu 14.04.04 (as per Santwana's tests) & does not exist in 14.04.03 (per Sam's test). Since this is a regression and now fixed in 14.04.4, We should be able to perform a reverse bisect to identify the commit(s) that fix this bug. Can you test the following kernels and post back back? We need to identify the last kernel that had the bug, and the first kernel that does not have the bug: 4.0: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.0-vivid/ 4.1: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.1-wily/ 4.2: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.2-wily/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1557379 Title: NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 26s!
