In this context, I'd like the behavior to be approved by design, As was discussed with design & Olivier:
- the option to have the files be downloaded by the webapp in the ~/Downloads folder is not straightforward security wise - on the contrary having the webapps "own" those downloaded files might fragment the files across apps, - delegating to the webbrowser for downloads might be an intermediate solution but the delegation process per-se might be confusing to the user (since the browser is not strictly associated as being the owner of ~/Downloads) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1560086 Title: cannot download files with no destination app from webapps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1560086/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
