Same bug on HP Pavilion g6. BUT I don't even have an Nvidia graphics card. I have: xorg and xserver-xorg both in version 1:7.7+1ubuntu8.1 xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.7.4-0ubuntu1
Not one of the proposed solutions has been successful for more than a few hours for me. The system also freezes quicker if I am on battery power.
