Public bug reported: After upgrading from 14.04 -16.04 Ubuntu GNOME, the lock screen will be broken with an "Authenticating" message.
This is due to gnome-shell loosing the authentication channel to gdm, after the upgrade. I am not sure that there is anyway to work around this and restore it without rebooting. ** Affects: ubuntu-gnome Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: ubuntu-gnome Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1565178 Title: Screen lock broken after release upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1565178/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
