Hi! Thanks for your time. I really appreciate it. Attached cat_proc_mtrr shows 'cat /proc/mtrr' directly after boot for - kernel 3.16.0-37 (not affected kernel) - kernel 3.16.0-38 (affected kernel) - kernel 3.16.0-38 + video=vesafb:mtrr:0 (affected + possible workaround)
You were right, the write-combining disappeared with vesafb:mtrr:0. Sadly, 3.16.0-38 still freezes within minutes. What else can be tested / what more can I provide? ** Attachment added: "cat_proc_mtrr" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-utopic/+bug/1561902/+attachment/4620183/+files/cat_proc_mtrr -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1561902 Title: Total system freeze after 3.16.0-38.52 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-utopic/+bug/1561902/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
